Character 100-ish 034: Mithi
Feb. 12th, 2014 10:45 pmThis is the first one I've drawn on the laptop. Didn't fit the screen very well. Eh.

...Idk I don't really have anything to say on this one. Didn't really challenge myself with it, did I? =/
NAME Mithi
WHO IS THIS PERSON Raykinian Minister for Kazinian Affairs, also wife of Murali, one of the current Raykinian King's Own (elite warrior dudes)
GENDER Female
AGE 38
BRIEF BIO Mithi was born in Ni-Yana's upper class as the daughter of the Minister for Foreign Affairs. Her mother's talk of meetings with foreign ministers and even the Raykinian king and queen gave Mithi the ambition to follow in her footsteps. Mithi began working as a scribe in the foreign secretariat at the palace at age 15, mostly just writing up multiple copies of reports, then promoted into the Ministry for Foreign Affairs at 22.
Three years later, a Kazinian assassin attacked her in the streets on her way home from work. When the assassin's hands were around her neck, Murali appeared, yay! He shot an arrow right past her ear and into the assassin's, saving her life. Mithi initially wasn't quite sure what to make of Murali. She's never thought much of the army--they're the stopgap, bandaid response when her own ministry isn't doing its job, the King's Own especially. Murali had turned down an Own challenge a few days previous, but his own ambition to become First General turned her off. Still, she felt she owed it to him to get to know him, at least, annnnd after three years, they got married. They're very much the business, power couple, though. Neither of them have had any desire for children.
So the year after they married, Mithi was sent on a diplomatic... thing... to Kazin, with the King's Own as an escort, which was what prompted Murali to finally take the Own challenge--he wanted to protect her. AWW. Two years ago, in-story time, Mithi was promoted to Minister for Kazinian Affairs, and that's where she sits. Things have been Tense those two years, especially, y'know, when the recent shit started going down. YEAH.
CHARACTER Mithi is just as ambitious as her husband, and had her heart set on being a foreign minister from a young age. Complete workaholic, especially when Murali's away. She's a stern woman, very strict with her subordinates, and makes certain that every decision made is for the good of Raykin, not for herself or her department's funding. She always puts on a strong face when Murali leaves for a mission, but she's terrified every time.
POINTS OF INTEREST
Mithi is near-fluent in Kazinian, and has a reasonably good handle on Llayan and Tsaythi.
Shoooort. She has paler, less-aged skin than the average 38-year-old Raykinian, since she works indoors all the time.
She loves her husband, but she gets desperately lonely when he's away, and has on a few occasions been unfaithful. She justifies this to herself by saying they meant nothing, but she always feels guilty when Murali returns home with a present of apology for not being there for her.
