Character 100-ish 059: Anganur
Seriously are they shuffled? I know I was just wondering where all the Own riders are but really. Now I just need a blade archer to have one of each.
The blokiest bloke who ever bloked. Now looking suitably blokey as opposed to the only other four times I've drawn him when I didn't know how to put character into a face. ALSO I think that's the first open-mouthed yelly-happy smile that I've drawn that's reached the eyes. I'm not going to call it perfect because as soon as I look at it after a break I'll spot the flaws, but I AM going to admit some pride here =3
NAME Anganur
WHO IS THIS PERSON Paluman in the current Raykinian King's Own, the best fifteen warriors in Raykin. A palu is a 2.5m long reinforced wooden staff with a curved blade at either end, roughly the size of your hand.
GENDER Male
AGE 35
BRIEF BIO Brought up JUST on the wrong side of the Main Road in Ni-Yana but not far enough south for it to stick with him for life, Anganur has never really left the southern districts. He lazily started army training at eighteen (three years later than traditionally) and started then because it has been perceived in recent years as a cushy job, then spent his training years defying his weapons masters and only doing enough to get through. He only started trying harder once he graduated into Third Company, when the other, more level-headed palumen made him realise how good he could be. He didn't take up the Own challenge until he was 29, comparatively late. Again.
He'd never married before then and so many many ladies started latching onto him for the fame. Anganur loved it. He met his (trophy) wife Gaeli in such a manner and promptly married her at the next full moon. She's probably a bit too much of an airhead to realise he's taking advantage of her, but we'll get to Gaeli later.
That's about all there is to his past really. Been on eight missions and has been the bane of every general he's served under but the best mate of everyone else.
CHARACTER Anganur is a bogan, through and through. He's casual, easy-going, lazy, and open to a beer and a laugh with whoever's offering. He doesn't care about his appearance, though he says he lets his stubble/beard grow to show off the scar (really it's just laziness but whatever). The only thing he puts any real effort into is his training, and that's only because it's fun, not because he feels like he should. He'll drag his feet at anything he deems not 'Owny' enough, like pitching tents or cooking. He has a fairly low opinion of authority, which has been particularly difficult on anyone in charge of him, Nimay especially because he knew her before she was his general. His normal behaviour is to casually insult his mates, and especially when he gets back from 4 months in isolation with them on a mission he'll extend this to complete strangers who don't realise he doesn't mean it.
POINTS OF INTEREST
He has teh shoulders. He's got a spinifex tiger tattooed on one shoulder, which he got when he was in Kazin.
Anganur's signature dish is steak. Just that. Slap a dozen Tbones on the grill and that's his job done.
Anganur is a violent drunk.
