Character 100-ish 073: Madame Auin

I sense a healer glut, as I had an Own rider glut last week. Granted I decided the last one was a healer as I was writing her profile, hence why I'd forgotten about her healer's dot until just now, but pulling out Auin now makes me anticipate lots of healers.
Old people are the most fun to draw. I know I say that on every old person but they REALLY ARE.
NAME Madame Auin
WHO IS THIS PERSON Former head healer of the palace healing house in Raykin's capital of Ni-Yana
GENDER Female
AGE deceased age 65. I know she looks about ten years older than that in the drawing but the sun ages Raykinians faster.
BRIEF BIO Auin decided to be a healer purely because it was a job. As far as her parents were concerned the best job prospects were either in politics or healing (which is like modern day lawyer of doctor... yeah no pressure) so Auin picked healing and started training as an eleven-year-old at the palace healing house. She started out hating it, especially how people kept coming in with stupid injuries that were their own fault, but she stuck with it anyway and earned her gold healer's band when she was 21. That same year she married... some guy. Idk let's make him a politician, keep Auin's parents happy. They've had three kids, of whom none have gone on to become healers or politicians.
At 28, the then-head healer of the palace healing house died, and Auin took over the role and has ruled with an iron fist since then. She's had a number of interesting people coming through her healing house, from an abandoned Tsaythi baby that the healers all raised together and who started a healing house of his own in the city, to of course the twins and their yrae feathers. In story terms, she died two years ago of heatstroke. Heatwave finally came to be too much for her.
CHARACTER Auin still treats her job as simply a job--she treats the illness or the injury rather than the patient, and often chides and questions her patient. She knows her stuff, though, and the other healers all look up to her for her wealth of knowledge if not necessarily for her bedside manner.
POINTS OF INTEREST
Tiny, tiny woman, not even 5 foot tall, but damn you wouldn't cross her.
