Character 100-ish 081: Queen Tusa
Jun. 28th, 2014 04:21 pmHoly balls it's cold. My fingers are so stiff and my fingernails are purple :<

Dark skin continues to be difficult but I really like how it's coming out so that's okay. I like how she looks like a queen even though she's got the exact same hair and clothes as her entire nation.
NAME Queen Tusa of Tsayth
WHO IS THIS PERSON Current queen of Tsayth, that kingdom down the bottom I've done next to nothing with
GENDER Female
AGE 20
BRIEF BIO Tusa is the second-youngest of King Weset and Queen Si's seven children. Like all the royal offspring, she's spent probably half her life so far on ships to properly understand how the kingdom of Tsayth works and what really matters to the ocean-faring people. Sort of a six-months-on-six-off deal, and always with at least two other siblings at the same time. Tusa herself quite enjoyed these voyages, where she got to go adventuring and seeing the world. While the children were never actually the captain of the ship, they each took turns in leading the crew under the watchful eye of their aunt/uncle.
Tusa quickly became the favourite of her mother and father, though they tried their best to hide this from both her and her siblings, simply because this would make her a target for the more ambitious of them. It didn't work, though, because even her biased brothers and sisters could see she was the best among them. Two of her brothers, just as it was nearing the eldest's 20th birthday, tried to kill her when she was seventeen, but Tusa was no dummy. She'd learned how to fight and fought off both of them at once, killing the eldest and wounding the other so that his right arm was near-useless thereafter. She could have killed him, too, but that was never Tusa's style. She wanted to rule as her father had, with people around her she could trust and depend on, and so she brought him onto her side, instead, kind of to act as her bodyguard, kind of just to keep an eye on him.
On her next voyage she met the young man who would later become her husband and her king, Sian. He was trustworthy and a good leader and follower when required. They married when they returned to Ryas, and were crowned Queen and King of Tsayth on Tusa's birthday as per practical Tsaythi tradition, so Tusa's parents are still around to mentor her. This was less than a year ago in story time, so she's still finding her way, but signs are promising that Tusa will make a valuable queen for her people.
CHARACTER She's ready. She's a very mature and thoughtful young woman, out to get the best for everyone and not being held back by tradition. She has ideas about where she wants to take Tsayth, learned on her sea voyages, but is prudent enough to realise she's still young and needs to learn more before she can implement her ideas without ruffling international feathers.
POINTS OF INTEREST
Tusa is actually gay, but she's resigned to the fact that she's going to have to start making babies in a decade's time. One of her things she wants to implement is Llayad's adoption scheme, so that orphaned babies aren't abandoned and gay people aren't forced into relationships for the practicalities of making babies. Nobody knows any of this yet, though. For the time being, she'll just look at the sexy ladies and pine after people she can't have like the rest of the kingdom.
She does love Sian, and nothing of what she currently shows him is faked, but for her it's more friendship than romance. He doesn't seem to mind.
Still not above getting her hands dirty, but still not going to actively go out and kill anyone.

Ugh, fucking badass women, I love it.
I also love how its just like the fucking thing to try and kill your siblings to get the power. It makes me want to rewatch Stardust lol.

The little bits of Tsaythi tradition and practicality and stuff I love, I just need to do more with them. That'll happen, as it has with Llayad and Kazin before them =3

Going to pretend she gazes lustily upon neighbouring princesses and the twins now, kk.
