Nooooose.
NAME Alir
WHO IS THIS PERSON Another of the random desert group who I created for the sake of having a desert group. Alir is part of Laer's family group, the one that got too big and had to split.
GENDER Male
AGE 19
BRIEF BIO Alir was only eight when Laer decided the family group was too big to support itself, and had to split up. He made a huge nuisance of himself, and only started helping when she threatened to leave him in the middle of the desert, though he still sulked.
They joined up with Gunai's group a few months later, and since then he's grown a little lazy. It was for this reason that big sister Falak set him up with Kanaki, hoping her sense of responsibility would rub off on him. It sort of worked. He's devoted to Kanaki, but still lacks initiative. As we meet them in SH, Falak is pregnant with their first child. The rest of the family hopes that having a child will give him the responsibility he needs.
Alir saw Weya's son, Uli, get bitten by a spider and, knowing it wasn't a dangerous spider, did nothing about it, but Uli was too young and not strong enough to survive it. Weya now hates him for this and is unlikely to ever forgive him.
CHARACTER Lazy for a desert person. He'll only do something if it's asked of him, not through his own initiative. He's particularly good at reading people, and knows exactly what to say when something is bothering his family members.
POINTS OF INTEREST
Alir prefers foraging to hunting, because berries and roots don’t have to be tracked, but Kanaki does try to drag him along on hunting trips with her. He’s also in charge of getting the fire going, though he usually does a deliberately bad job so as to get out of it next time.
He’s bony and knobbly all over, long stringy hair, but a nice smile and kind eyes. He’s tall, even by desert standards. He has a nick in his top lip, probably from Weya punching him. He sometimes walks with a limp and uses it as an excuse to get out of doing something.
