Healer Training
Dec. 19th, 2004 09:48 pmFi~nally got around to working out the training schedule thingo for healers. I have done quite literally nothing on healer training. Not a single mini!fic, nothing. So here we go. Now that it's more set in stone, that should prompt me to write some stuff. I think that was what was keeping me from it before. I dunno.
Anyway. Completely opposite to the army guys, healers begin training on the day after Winter Solstice (the holiday that celebrates the goddesses), and usually there's only one new trainee a year, maybe two or three at the palace healing house. The head healer will accept or deny them based more on personality than any skills--she can teach them skills, but personality not so much.
( training program )
This program, unlike for the army, isn't exactly set in stone. Rather, the head healer will decide when the trainee's ready to move onto the next stage. This is just a basic guideline. For example, 'min wouldn't have started setting broken bones until well after year three, simply because a ten-year-old isn't strong enough to hold an adult's arm straight, particularly if they're in that much pain. On the other hand, she has a sharp mind and good memory, so she would have started mixing and administering antivenoms earlier than year four.
There's no set finishing time; again, it's whenever the head healer decides that the trainee's ready. All those in the healing house will lod a small ceremony, during which the head healer presents her with her gold healers band.
