Less random this time. I've been working out the outline for Silent Harmony: Gold and I just need to know all the Bouquet so I can decide which of them does what, so I'm going to finish off all the assassins first, then the Llayan royalty. Still pulling the said assassins randomly out of a very small box, tho.
She's such a SWEET little assassin
NAME Shina, alias 'Strelitzia'
WHO IS THIS PERSON One of the current Bouquet, the Kazinian empress' personal assassination squad. Strelitzia is the Nissayan connection, and is also Grevillea's girlfriend
GENDER Female
AGE 30
BRIEF BIO Shina grew up with three big brothers, all of whom ended up in the army. Her mother tried to force her into the more respectable pursuits of taxation and law and such. Shina put on the face and pretended to enjoy it--and she was good enough at it that her mother thought she was really trying--but she would always take the opportunity to train with her brothers. Once her oldest brother started gaining enough ranks that he had influence, he made sure she would be allowed into the army barracks to train. Shina loves her brothers muchly.
So one day, the queen of wherever she was from saw her training, but rather than be offended and think Shina beneath her, the queen offered her a job as a state assassin. It wasn't anything quite like the army, but she would be able to use her skills for the good of her province. Shina took up the offer and made a shedload of money off of it.
A few years in, when she was about 25 and word of her had started getting around, she started getting a bit greedy and took on contracts from other people, unrelated to the queen. One day, an angry young thing called Riisha found her. Riisha begged Shina to take on a contract to kill the queen. She told Shina her story, about how the queen and her healers had effectively killed her family. Shina began to see the queen in a new light, then, and started questioning why she was working for her. She took on Riisha as her apprentice, and learned more about the dodginess of her queen, through Riisha and her own investigations.
Over the years of training and the inevitable planning to kill the queen, Shina and Riisha fell in love. When the time finally came and they were ready to take down the queen, they failed. Both were captured and separated, never to see each other again. Shina was taken to Assiraz, where Empress Shizaaqa gave her the alias Strelitzia and lots of money, as well as a threat that she would have Riisha killed if Shina in any way strayed from Shizaaqa's orders.
About a year later, stuff in Tarnish started going down, which had all the Bouquet meeting up in Assiraz. And of course, Strelitzia met up again with Riisha (now Grevillea) and they lived happily ever after. Geeze this got long.
CHARACTER Sweetie with a misplaced conscience. Shina chooses not to question her queen's orders, and strongly believes that she was doing the right, at least until Riisha came around and forced her eyes open. Shina likes to please the people she's close to, but has genuine issues in empathising with those she doesn't know, like the families of her victims, for example.
POINTS OF INTEREST
Strelitzia is the best marksman in the Bouquet.
She's tiny. Like, she'd fit in in Raykin if she got a serious tan going.
Strelitzia knows she has an innocent face, and uses it to her advantage.
That's a strelitzia, also known as the Bird-Of-Paradise but obviously that's not going to work for an alias of the Bouquet because it's already a bird.

Date: 2013-12-27 03:39 pm (UTC)I really like the depth of coloring in her hair and eyes, but hair especially. It's so rich and dark at the scalp then lightening out as it goes, in such a small area, it looks so realistic!
