Not a NaNo 18: Alias Acacia
Dec. 24th, 2013 01:59 pmStill on the assassins, still pulling them randomly but they're getting to be slim pickings now. YAY ALMOST OUT OF ASSASSINS I swear they're the hardest backgrounds to come up with.

I realise now that her head's too big/shoulders are too small. Whoops.
NAME Athaza, alias 'Acacia'
WHO IS THIS PERSON One of the current Bouquet, the personal assassination squad of the Kazinian empress. Acacia is the Razabes connection.
GENDER Female
AGE 31
BRIEF BIO Athaza is cut from a similar cloth as Flannel Flower only with a little less crazy. Like Flannel Flower, Athaza is from one of the outlying provinces--Haysyd, to be precise, which is about as outlying as Kazin gets--and recognises the imperial crown only in that it steals taxes and never invests the coin back in the province. She achieved notoriety when she began killing all the local palace officials who she saw as being too loyal to the imperial crown. With a flair for the theatrical, she announced her kills very publicly, but stayed well-hidden herself, living in treehouses scattered around the forest. It was only when she went after the local queen that she was finally caught, but even then it was after the fact. Yep, she totally killed the queen of Haysyd.
So in her mid-twenties, Athaza was taken to Assiraz and dumped in the Imperial Dungeons for quite a while. It was a couple of months before Shizaaqa called her back up, mostly because she wanted to be sure that Athaza knew who was boss. She'd had issues with Flannel Flower fairly recently and didn't want it happening again. So, with a promise to instate whoever Athaza chose to rule Haysyd, she shipped the newly codenamed Acacia off to the other side of the empire.
Acacia paid close attention to any news from her hometown, which was hard to come by because of Haysyd's relative isolation, but eventually she learned from the Razabes spy that Haysyd's new queen was indeed who she had asked for. Of course, she inconveniently died a month or two into her reign, but still, Shizaaqa did what was asked. Jolly unfortunate, that.
Events in Tarnish transpired, and Acacia finds herself in the prime position to free her province from unfair taxes, good for her. She doesn't get on well with Bluebell, the Haysyd connection, who openly admits to having killed the new queen with no remorse, but Acacia just grits her teeth and bares it. She's out for something better than some petty old revenge.
CHARACTER Acacia has a strong sense of justice, and believes everyone should share it. She wants to see the Kazinian empire dissolved, since the only thing that holds the provinces together now is that they pay taxes to the imperial crown. She has very little sense of humour, can't take a joke and sees any slight against Haysyd as a personal attack. She tries to keep a handle on her temper, but she deliberately makes sure people can see she's holding onto it, as a quiet threat as to what might happen should she lose it.
POINTS OF INTEREST
Acacia is a fantastic climber. She can find the tiniest little nooks as footholds and can climb sheer smooth-barked trees without assistance.
Acacia has pretty much lived in the bush her entire life, including while she's been in the Bouquet. Nobody can find her once she's gone bush.
Acacias are basically all the wattle sorts of trees. They're also all those flat-topped trees in Africa but that's Llayad's territory. Kazin sticks with the wattle.

I realise now that her head's too big/shoulders are too small. Whoops.
