NOTES Actually written at various intervals last year but for some reason I completely forgot to post it when we finally finished it, whoops. ANYWAY. Assili's birthday yaaaay! Clearly this will be a relaxed and completely non-judgemental affair. Yeah no.
Kanera strode as much as his legs would allow him across the balcony. Sahid strode beside him, hitching the front of his sarong up with his free hand as he walked. They had both opted for the traditional attire for this evening’s cocktail hour. Assili loved tradition, and tonight was all about Kanera’s little sister. There was, he had to admit, more class to wearing a sarong than a pair of pants.

Notes~ Part of my 'finish off the WIPs' phase, this one's been sitting half-done for more than a year. Basically figuring out what's going on in Assiraz at the time of chapter 12-ish of Tarnish. As such there are spoilers, I guess, but no really huge revelations that the Raykinians haven't already figured out themselves.

Warnings~ liek woah. Up to chapter 18 of Tarnish which I haven't actually written yet, but damnit I wanted to write this. So basically that means Sallie and Shanra, who helped me plan out Tarnish, are the only ones who won't get spoiled here.
Notes~ The dangers of developing a side character are, of course, that they'll want their bits written so they're the main character. Sod you, Sahid. God~ he's so different to writing Nol XD I hope I didn't screw up Kanera and Zakky too much :< WE'LL SEE!

Notes~ Getting a handle on these two, because they're fun~ :D Sahid is a dick expected by his parents and society to get into the Commanding Circle, but he's a dick, so he probably won't. He's currently at Sergeant (one rank up from the bottom and another three to Commander) but frankly, he reckons being a prince is far more fun. Zakaariss is the youngest man to be promoted to the Commanding Circle, and damnit if he isn't going to aim for the top spot of General. I love him. He's got smarts. Can totally see how he's made his way to the top with them >D

Notes~ These are the same 25 moods I wrote with Nol a few months ago. In working on Shizaaqa's character, I thought it might be a nice idea to do them for her, too. It was... a challenge, to say the least, but well worth it. I definitely have a much better handle on how the Kazinian Empress operates now, as well as her empire.
Admittedly, some of them are a little flimsy and most degenerate into anger, but it feels to me like a more natural progression. I've tried to show every current aspect of her life and the people she interacts with: each of her four children, her partner, random politicians both Kazinian and foreign and her palace staff. All taken from the very recent past, no more than five years ago, except for Despondent.
