Character 100-ish 031: Thiras

Aww yeah, someone I know again. I was sorely tempted to stick Thiras in the top 8 and leave her to the end, but... I really wanted to do her, basically :D
Any facial expression with TEETH is freaking impossible. She's laughing. Happily. This is why Thiras rarely gets drawn.
NAME Thiras
WHO IS THIS PERSON For the most part, random Tsaythi. She hasn't been met officially yet.
GENDER Female
AGE 38
BRIEF BIO Thiras was born in Ryas on mainland Tsayth as a bastard child of Eti and [father unknown]. This is a Bad Thing in Tsayth, it's the biggest prejudice they have. Her mother managed to join a ship's crew when Thiras was three by lying and saying she had been married but Thiras' father died before she was born. It was on this ship that Thiras learned of wind witches, though the ship didn't have one itself, and started pretending she could control the wind herself. After six years, Eti told her about her father and made her promise to keep it a secret. Thiras agreed but only if she could get on a ship with a wind witch. When they found one somewhere in Kazin, they switched crews so Thiras could learn.
On that ship, Thiras met Jed and fell in loooove as a teenager, then at age 19 they got married, because that's what Tsaythis do. She's lucky she loved him. Normally they're arranged. Anyway yes, two years later, daughter~! Called Kesi. And everything was awesome. Then, after ten solid years of loving marriage and happy small child, Thiras entrusted Jed with her history and how she's a bastard child. Jed disowned her for having lied to him and the crew abandon her at the next port. Jed kept their daughter Kesi, which Thiras didn't fight too much because she knew Kesi would have a better life on the ship than whatever life she could provide. Her mum came, though. Yay Mum :D
That port she got dumped in was Ni-Badra, at the mouth of Raykin's Ra-Lin. She liked Raykin because she could say who she was without being judged, but Eti saw her descending into a world she didn't understand. She tried to convince Thiras to join another crew, but Thiras just heard it as nagging. After a little over a year she got bored of Ni-Badra anyway (wind witching feels kinda superfluous when you don't have sails to fill) and instead joined one of the pirate ships she's heard so much about. Aww yeah. Eti didn't like this and went back to Ryas instead. NOOOOO.
After three years on the pirate ship, when she was 30, Thiras fell pregnant with some random in Kazin one night in port, so she directed the ship back to Ryas to raise her child in a more stable family. Eti gladly took her back, because Eti is an awesome forgiving mum and was just happy to see her daughter grow out of her rebellious stage and WHEE GRANDDAUGHTER. Thiras named her daughter after her mother, because I love their mother-daughter relationship and stuff. So little-Eti is five now and Thiras works as a salt shoveller at the Ryas water distillery (they dump sea water into this big glass domes, water evaporates and trickles down to the outside, then the salt left over gets shovelled out).
CHARACTER Thiras is fundamentally bored, but she's not afraid of taking risks to change things up a bit when she gets bored of her life situation. She'll dive into anything for the fun of it. She's seen the darkness and come out the other side of it with a daughter, one of the most important people in her life, and she's more tolerant of boredom now with little-Eti to bring up. Thiras has very strong morals, especially when it comes to how she treats people. She doesn't even ask someone their name when meeting them because she believes too much expectation is placed on such a thing. She wants to know a person before she judges them on their history.
POINTS OF INTEREST
Thiras has a very close relationship with her mother. She loves her dearly and, apart from a few petulant weeks when she learned about her father, Thiras has never blamed Eti for giving her the life of a bastard. She never takes for granted all the opportunities Eti gave her.
Thiras met her father when she came back to Ryas. She loves and respects him very highly.
For many years, Thiras thought she'd try to kill Jed if she ever saw him again, but having little-Eti made her move past that. She has her own life now.
Thiras has a fantastic laugh. She can be heard through most of Ryas.
She has rudimentary Kazinian, Raykinian and Llayan, but she struggles to maintain conversation in any of them. Raykinian is probably her best since living there for a year, but it's gotten rusty since leaving.
All Tsaythis can fight; Thiras is a skilled tactician and loves bow and arrow the most. Because me and archers, man. You thought it was swords, didn't you?
I TOLD YOU SHE WAS DEVELOPED oh man I can't wait for her to appear. I'll probably give her a NaNo at some stage.
She has three chickens, an idea she got from living in Ni-Badra.
