NAME Lady Menala
WHO IS THIS PERSON One of the healers at the Raykinian palace healing house, also one of Yamin's besties.
GENDER Female
AGE 21
BRIEF BIO Menala grew up in middle-class Ni-Yana with her mother and a younger brother and younger sister. They don't know what happened to their father. Menala's very much at the 'eh, fuck 'im' stage of her life right now anyway. Her mother works in the kitchens of the palace and Menala started out there, too, but was only there for a year or so before she decided at age ten that she wanted to be a healer. Her mother agreed and encouraged this, sending her to the palace healing house to start training right away.
By then, Yamin had been training there for about two years, and being so close in age, Menala latched onto her right away. She earned her gold healer's band at seventeen after her seven years of training, met a lovely boy training to be a blade archer at the same time and is in a silly happy relationship with him now. She's always had big dreams of doing something huge with her life, like going on a round the world trip or becoming a famous singer or something, but really she's happy where she is with the people she's with and isn't likely to change that any time soon.
CHARACTER Big dreamer, as just mentioned, but without the drive or, perhaps, the courage to put any of them into action. She's comfortable where she is. Menala is a happy, loud and bouncy girl and loves randomly bursting into song, especially when the healing house is pretty empty. She finds it hard to sit still for long, and gets bored very quickly if she’s forced to for any reason. Her conversation flits from topic to topic, too. She's quite cheeky and loves playing silly jokes on people, nothing harmless and usually her victim is as giggly about it as she is. This has resulted in her being the scapegoat for anything going wrong in the healing house.
POINTS OF INTEREST
She has a crush on most of the Own, though she's too embarrassed to act on it. She goes quiet and star struck when any of them come into the healing house.
Menala is the self-titled welcoming committee of the healing house. Whenever a new healer joins them, she adds their birthday to the birthday list and makes a point of celebrating it with them.
Menala spends money easily, both on herself and her friends. She's often asking for advances on her pay.
She's as much into fashion as her bestie Fali is, different tastes but she loves to bling it up.
Last bestie is Lii, who's the singer who was introduced earlier on in this challenge thingie. She's made it her duty to cheer the girl up, and it's working. She envies Lii's singing voice and encourages her to keep trying to get a job singing at a restaurant in Ni-Yana.
