Character 100-ish 067: Commander Bazhan

I bought a shiny new tablet yesterday! First picture drawn with the said shiny new tablet, I was really really hoping to get someone awesome. Another Own rider, maybe, or Sahid, I've been hoping he'd come up. BUT NO. I pull out literally the most obscure 'name' I possibly could: Commander 3. He didn't even have a NAME. So, on Cassie's advice, dude is now sexy, just to have SOMETHING epic about the first portrait drawn on the shiny new tablet.
Also Zakaariss can't be the only sexy commander in the Circle, srsly. I mean, Shizaaqa heads it. She wants her some eye candy.
NAME Commander Bazhan (ZH is that sound that doesn't appear in English, but it's just SH with voice, in the same way that a Z is just an S with voice.)
WHO IS THIS PERSON One of the commanders leading the Assiraz army in Kazin; one of Empress Shizaaqa's Commanding Circle
GENDER Male
AGE 32
BRIEF BIO Bazhan grew up in the Assiraz country somewhere around the border, where he got to see warriors passing through on the way to and from battles all the time. He didn't want to help take over the farm, he wanted to be a warrior. Being as this is pretty much the best prospect a man can have in Kazin, his parents supported him and sent him to army training at I'm going to nail it down as age seven.
In his training, as in his early childhood, Bazhan had huge respect for the ranking officers but, as a small boy from the country, he didn't think he had any chance himself at earning any ranks. Until, as a seventeen-year-old, he drew the attention of one of the palace staff, purely because she wanted some of that. And so, fresh out of army training, Bazhan was almost immediately promoted to captain. He did have skill of his own, and would have started climbing the ranks on his own well enough, but she made him feel like it was only by her good graces that he was getting anywhere, so he felt he was pretty much stuck to her and owed her his career.
In the end, her own plans were foiled when he realised her influence was only enough to project him to colonel (two below commander) and so he left her in search of a higher ranking official. Basically, Bazhan's slept his way to the top. Well, nearly the top. He's been in the commanding circle for the better part of a decade now, but has pretty much given up on becoming general--nothing short of death is going to stop Zakaariss from taking that spot, and Bazhan's not an idiot, he knows Zakaariss will do a better job of it than he would.
So yeah. There've been battles and wars and such where Bazhan's taken command and been more than competent in it, I dunno what, there's stuff going on in Kazin all the time. Doubtless he's got kids, too, but frankly he's such a minor character that I can't be bothered making them up. Just assume they exist.
CHARACTER Oozes confidence but still feels a bit of a pretender, still feels like it's only through the good graces of his lady friends that he's gotten anywhere at all. 100% the ladies' man and completely unashamed of it. Still highly respectful of his ranking officers, particularly General Misbah and Commander Zakaariss, who he knows will be general as soon as Misbah retires. Very good tactical mind, as all the commanders do. Shizaaqa wouldn't let them in her Circle if they were idiots.
POINTS OF INTEREST
Bazhan probably has some Raykinian in his heritage. Look at that dark hair and golden tan.
I'd say Shizaaqa has slept with Bazhan at some point. Shizaaqa would. LOOK AT HIM.
Also Zakaariss can't be the only sexy commander in the Circle, srsly. I mean, Shizaaqa heads it. She wants her some eye candy.

Whatever you want, we can add it to the pile of googledocs we share and such XD whenever you want. There's Shizaaqa's brother and two others, I think. I've done three, you've got one, Ku has one. Two more then to make seven. TWO TO GO and one at least has a character relationship. Unless they have nine commanders in Assiraz in which case I'm only halfway through. Whatever. When they come out we can write Things!

ALSO TODAY I was like "Maybe Zakky and Bazhan are like that dynamic of friendship where one is a stoic, kind of mean bastard and the other is a more talkative, jokey charisma man and you're like "why the fuck are these two friends?" but they somehow are and their friendship is somehow adorable thing going on?" maybe? idk? :<
Zakky has a lot of bricks man. And by bricks we mean muscles.
We will start a file this weekend perhaps? Or at least think of reasons for all the commanders to interact, idk.

If I find I do need another commander or two you may certainly have one X3 idk man I'm losing track of the characters I've done and haven't. I could save a whole lot of confusion and open the original spreadsheet with all the people in it but that would be smart.
I love those friendships. Kurae has that friendship with all the swordies. They all get his wry humour and oh-so-subtle digs and everyone else goes 'wtf no he's not funny' and the swordies go 'are you KIDDING me he's hilarious' and it's awesome.
When next you're online we can invent a war or something to have them interact about.
