Character 100-ish 070: Lady Gii
Jun. 14th, 2014 02:30 pmSo I counted up the names left in the very small box yesterday and I. I'm not even halfway through. What.

Her top is probably a bit oversaturated for what Raykinian dye can manage but whatever. She's dead anyway so it doesn't really matter.
NAME Lady Gii
WHO IS THIS PERSON Late wife of Haenel, one of the current swordsmen in the Raykinian King's Own, fifteen best warriors yada yada yada. Also I decided she's a healer. Or was. Because for some reason none of these boys had married healers.
GENDER Female
AGE deceased, age 24
BRIEF BIO Born and bred in the Raykinian borderlands, which is otherwise known as beer country because this is where all the barley is grown and where much of the beer is ultimately brewed. Gii herself always wanted to be a healer. She started out training with the healing house of her region, which was a good distance from her home town, then left as a teenager for Ni-Yana to further develop her skills. She had every intention of returning to her home town and starting her own healing house there, so the residents didn't have to travel so far, but then she met Haenel, a trainee swordsman in the Raykinian army, and they fell in love. Haenel promised her he'd come back with her to live in Ni-Wherever-She-Was-From if she'd only stay with him to the end of his training. Gii agreed, and the two of them married on the full moon after Haenel's 20th birthday as per tradition, which was also the full moon after Gii's 20th so that was cool.
Gii earned her gold healer's band the next year, at one of Ni-Yana's smaller healing houses, learning all there was to know about running a healing house so she could hit the ground running when she got back home. Gii fell pregnant two years later, but unfortunately, only a few months before Haenel was due to graduate, she and baby both died in childbirth.
CHARACTER Optimistic, hard working and helpful to a fault. She often takes on people as projects and can be a bit forceful in her trying to make them better, whether they wish it or not. Gii started out taking on Haenel as one of her projects, trying to give him his life back after so much had been taken from him, and probably would have succeeded, too.
POINTS OF INTEREST
Haenel was still pretty fragile when Gii died. Her death pretty much shattered him and any chance he might have had at genuine happiness.
