Character 100-ish 082: Ynuk

This is going to be full of Blade Archer spoilers because I don't expect anyone to read that (honestly I only finished it so I could say I did).
He looks more like he's got something in his eye rather than roaring with rage.
NAME Ynuk
WHO IS THIS PERSON Older brother of Kael, who was the main character in my 2004 NaNoWriMo novel, Blade Archer
GENDER Male
AGE Deceased age 24
BRIEF BIO Ynuk grew up with his younger brother and sister, Kael and Elara, faaar south of the Main Road in Ni-Yana with their parents, but Ynuk's father was murdered when he was thirteen. The family was told he died in a boating accident, but they all know otherwise. So Ynuk, Elara and Kael became pickpockets to make ends meet, while Ynuk continued to privately gripe about his father's death. The older he got the more he questioned it; why would anyone kill a fisherman?
Somewhere in there he met Ralina, then married her the full moon after his 20th birthday as per Raykinian tradition. I know sod-all about her--she's the side-character to a side-character in a side-story invented a decade ago and they're both dead anyway so she's not getting anything more than a name. Ynuk loved her, though.
So anyway. At 19, just before he'd moved out with his wife, Ynuk started more seriously looking for his father's killer. He learned that someone had hired an assassin to kill him, something only someone with money could do, and so became an assassin himself to try and get into their ranks and learn more.
The people he was chasing, though, figured he'd gotten too close to learning about them. As a warning, they killed everyone close to Ynuk--mother, sister, wife and brother-in-law, but his brother Kael was training as a blade archer at the time and had enough skill to get away. In any case, Ynuk was forced to spill his secret life to his brother, and the two of them went into hiding as best they could.
Vengeance in the end got the better of Ynuk, though. Together he and Kael found the smugglers who had killed their father, and in an ensuing battle with the Talons (Raykin's police force) Ynuk was fatally wounded and died the next day.
CHARACTER Ynuk is my properly nasty-pasty character. Kael was originally meant to be but I couldn't really handle it properly back then. Ynuk's the assassin, the one bent on revenge, first for his father then for the rest of his family, and to hell with anyone and anything else. Kael had to yell at him a lot to make him realise the danger he was putting his little brother in by continuing on his mission, and he still didn't give it up. Ynuk was a dangerous individual, even to those he loved.
POINTS OF INTEREST
Ynuk never had any fingers lopped off for his pickpocketing, but he did have three scars on the back of his wrist marking the number of times he got caught.
