Halfway through =D Kurae, another swordsman, whose character is based on the song Queer by Garbage. Yes, a lot of them are based off Garbage songs, live with =P
Name~ Kurae
Age~ 36
Currently Appearing In~ Nothing difinitive, just part of the collective Own
Orientation~ Gay, but he hides it
Origin~ Ni-Badra, costal city in Raykin at the mouth of the Ra-Lin
Significant Other(s)~ None, he's single
Background~ Kurae was brought up in a middle-class home. His parents were insistant on him being a fisherman, like most of the other residents of Ni-Badra, but he didn't want to. He left home when he was 17, with his parents under the impression that he'd be a river fisherman instead of in the ocean, but strangely enough he signed up for army training. They weren't too happy when they found out, but supported him nonetheless. They were incredibly proud of him when he got into the Own tho.
He got a girlfriend not long after he arrived in Ni-Yana, but he knew it didn't quite feel right. Rather than marry her as most guys would, he kinda just drifted away from her. Neither of them had any hard feelings, they just drifted away, and~ he hasn't looked at a girl since. He's gay, he knows it, but he's not exactly comfortable with it. He hides it pretty well.
Employment~ First Company swordsman and rider for the King's Own
Appearance~ Average height as far as Raykinians go, very strong arms. Bit of an ugly bastard, really. Short, floppy hair. Scars of course. You wouldn't want to meet this guy in a dark alley. Not that he'd try and mug you or anything, but he just has that kind of look. Which you rea~lly can't pick up from the chibi =3;
Distinguishing Characteristics~ Not really. 'part from the fact that he's a bit on the scary side. But that's not a characteristic.
Quirks~ He's a leftie, if that counts. He's also intimidated by strong women, much as he tries not to show it. Nimay not so much, since he knows her, but others most definitely.
Sin-of-Anger~ He wears a bit of a stony expression most of the time, but he's cool ^^
Sin-of-Envy~ Nuh. He's not comfortable with being gay, but he doesn't envy the straight blokes.
Sin-of-Pride~ He's a bit of a show-off, but not half as much as most of the other guys in the Own.
Sin-of-Gluttony~ Nope, not a big eater.
Sin-of-Lust~ Yeah, but there's not really anything he can do about it. He's determined not to let anyone know he's gay. Yoryl in particular turns him on X3 (Yoryl'll come up later. His song's Cherry Lips by Garbage tho, just to give you an idea X3)
Sin-of-Avarice~ Little bit. He doesn't mind too much when it's his shout at the pub, but you'd be hard pressed to get him to buy you anything else.
Sin-of-Sloth~ Nup. He lives on his own, so he has to do everything himself anyway, and he's pretty dedicated to his training, too. Even goes out with the archers on some mornings to practice with their cliff-target.
Virtues~ If you can get past the hard exterior, Kurae's a cool guy to know. And he can cook. While the guys in the Own have a roster thing going for whose turn it is to cook next when they're on missions, they all await Kurae's turn with great anticiptation. He cracks some pretty bad jokes, tho ^^;
