Back to the healers again now that I've actually got a string of days at home XD; This is Lii~ whose character is based on My lover's gone by Dido.
Name~ Lii
Age~ 24
Currently Appearing In~ Sweet bugger all, again.
Orientation~ Straight
Origin~ Ni-Badra, coastal city at the mouth of the Ra-Lin in Raykin.
Significant Other(s)~ None
Background~ Lii's a new addition to the palace healing house, having just arrived a year ago. She started out in Ni-Badra as the daughter of a blacksmith and a healer. She always had a vague interest in healing, and toyed with the idea of becoming a healer full time, but she loved singing as well.
She's only ever had one man in her life, (again, unnamed until he really needs a name for something), who she met when she was fifteen. He worked on a trading boat that went up the coast to Kazin and traded in whatever was worth it at the time. Just a small boat though, so they never went as far upstream as Ni-Yana to trade.
It was her singing voice he fell in love with, and he was the one who encouraged her to follow singing, so when she was sixteen she got a job singing at one of the swanky restaurants in Ni-Badra. A year later they married, aww. Lii was allowed on a trip up to Kazin once, a few years after they'd married. Her husband had hoped she'd be convinced to become a trader with him, so he could hear her singing all the time, but she definitely preferred keeping her feet on solid earth, so bugger that idea =D;
At 22 tho, her man left for a journey that should have taken two months at most, but the boat never came back to Ni-Badra. She was still hopeful for two months or so after he was supposed to return, but it was becoming more and more obvious to her that he wouldn't return. She stood on the beach every day, waiting and hoping and writing new songs to sing at the restaurant. As her hope faded, her songs became more and more melancholy, which didn't really work for the restaurant, so eventually she decided she'd leave Ni-Badra behind and move up to Ni-Yana.
She couldn't get a job singing in the big city and so started to persue her other career option and began training at the palace healing house a year ago. Which means she shouldn't have that gold band around her right arm just yet, but I didn't know that when I was doing the chibi, so just use your imagination. She's obviously still a bit melancholy, but the other healers have been really good with her, so she's been slowly cheering up. They've at least got her smiling now =3
Employment~ Trainee healer, not specialising in anything just yet. Formerly a singer at a restaurant in Ni-Badra.
Appearance~ She's short and has an almost completely flat chest, so she looks a lot younger than she is. Long~ hair she always tied back in a plait that comes down to her bum, and with a thick fringe.
Distinguishing Characteristics~ Nah, not really. Just looks younger than she is.
Quirks~ She used to be really outgoing and bubbly, but the death of her husband, which she's now accepted, coupled with the fact that she still can't get a job singing anywhere in Ni-Yana, has made her become much more shy and reclusive. Her old personality is slowly coming back, but she still has a habit of glancing downstream every now and then as though she's still got some hope that she'll see his boat coming up. Also hums to herself a lot.
Sin-of-Anger~ Nup, she does anything she can to avoid conflict. A firm believer in never leaving a person in a strop.
Sin-of-Envy~ She feels a pang and goes silent whenever any of the other girls talk about their man, but she never act on it.
Sin-of-Pride~ She's still proud of her singing, and has been trying to write some happier songs to take to the upmarket Ni-Yana restaurants. She definitely hasn't lost any of her pride.
Sin-of-Gluttony~ Nup, none of that.
Sin-of-Lust~ She's not ready for another man just yet.
Sin-of-Avarice~ Nah, she's never been greedy.
Sin-of-Sloth~ Certainly not =0
Virtues~ Singing voice obviously, and she's very determined. She's only 24, still got her whole life ahead of her, so she's not about to give up yet ^^
