Didn't do last week because a) ESSAYS LIEK WOAH. Even in spare time I didn't want to write ANYTHING, not even yrae-related. And~ b) the topic was death, which I'm 100% certain on for each kingdom. I might do that later, but unlikely. So! This week, we have~ Courtesy and Discourtesy.

What are the politeness rules of your society? Do people curtsy? Bow? Something else? What are the difference in greeting someone of your own rank and someone higher? How do people act when meeting someone below their rank? What things are considered polite and impolite in your world? How do people react to what they perceive as rudeness?

Raykin
Raykin's a very laid-back kingdom, as I'm sure you've noticed by now. A slight bob of the head is usually enough to show respect, and calling the higher-ups by title rather than name, but that's where they get a bit funny X3 However highly a person ranks in their own sector, if they have no power over you, then titles don't matter, because as far as ordering each other around goes, you're on equal footing. Only the other healers call Yamin 'Madame', for example. Only the guys in the Own call Nimay 'General', and since there's only the 15 of them and they're all so familiar already, that doesn't happen too often XD Only the other archers will address their Second General as 'General', while the rest of the army, even the lowest of Seventh Company, will call him by name.

Even foreign royalty, even the empress of Kazin, will be called by name, and ooh BOY does this tick off the other kingdoms XD Technically the same applies when Raykinians are IN the other kingdoms, but only those who are particularly sure of themselves (like the Own or high-up officials) would dare to call foreign royalty anything but Majesty or Highness.

Also! Everyone matters. Everyone is allowed to suggest things to the king/queen, and unless they're a really sucky one, they'll listen and probably delegate it to someone to do something about it, assuming it's not a ridiculous idea. In a discussion around a table with officials and royalty and token people who are being affected, everyone is allowed to have their say. People will randomly start talking to Nol in the pub about some problem or another, and he will listen until he gets sick of them.

...I can't be stuffed with the other kingdoms right now >> Especially Llayad. Bloody hell, I could write an entire thesis on Llayan etiquette. Tsayth's easy enough. Treat everyone as though they're the king/queen, then if they don't treat you back the same way, they probably ARE the king/queen.
