14 in 14 #3 ~ Gunai
Apr. 8th, 2008 06:17 pmFamily tree again.

Name~ Gunai
Age~ 45
Currently Appearing In~ Collective group of elders in Silent Harmony, but the group hasn't yet appeared in the current rewrite.
Orientation~ Straight
Origin~ The desert \m/
Significant Other(s)~ Yagenda (deceased), (children: Ruwi, Bihan and Kanaki)
Background~ Gunai has always been stubborn. He would only ever obey the family elders if he agreed with what they decided, and wasn't above telling them what to do as they grew older and weaker. Yagenda died not long after giving birth to their third child, at which point he got kind of stuck in the past. He compares everyone to her, especially other women, and every time someone does something wrong, he'll tell the offender that Yagenda could have done it fifty times better.
Slowly the numbers in his family group began to dwindle. All that was left were the weak elders, physically unable to do much of anything for themselves, let alone the rest of the group, and their children who had to hunt and cook for them. Around that time, Laer and Qowen appeared with their kiddies, boosting the numbers to go out hunting and basically saving the group.
Gunai's always clashed heads with Laer, seeing her as taking over his group, of which he was clearly going to end up being top dog. He has dragged himself into the present, but he still compares everyone to his long-dead Yagenda.
Employment~ Family elder, keeps track of supplies, food, water etc, leads in fights
Appearance~ Particularly grizzled, hollow cheeks, but ooh he's a tough bastard. Narrow eyes even if he didn't squint all the time against the sun, short, thick beard and slightly curly hair that he keeps just short enough to stay out of his eyes.
Distinguishing Characteristics~ He has a rounder face than most desert people, and is slightly shorter than average. Certainly not exaggerated enough to be accused of being a River man, but enough to be noticeable.
Quirks~ Grumpy bastard. Still reminisces about the old times, even if only in the form of comparing everyone to Yagenda.
Sin-of-Anger~ Very, very short fuse, especially when Laer's involved. He expects his decisions to be followed, and it won't take much for him to lose his temper.
Sin-of-Envy~ Gunai envies the younger members of the group, simply for being young. Despite being the youngest of the three elders, Gunai probably feels age the most because of the period of hardship that his group went through before Laer and Qowen showed up.
Sin-of-Pride~ He's very self-important, this one. In his mind, he's never wrong.
Sin-of-Gluttony~ Not a chance.
Sin-of-Lust~ Not since Yagenda died, no. Nobody's good enough for him anymore.
Sin-of-Avarice~ ...Greedy for power, maybe? There aren't any material possessions he can really be greedy for out there.
Sin-of-Sloth~ God no. Since he saw his family group almost die out having to provide for members who were never going to get better anyway, he's vowed to never become that much of a danger to the rest of the group himself. He expects everyone to pull their weight, himself included, and once they stop doing that and instead become a burden to the group, they're out.
Virtues~ He keeps the rest of the group from getting complacent, and keeps them moving. A very strong fighter, he's the one who's taught the second generation how to defend against attacking desert groups.
