The Raykinian palace has been in desperate need of a redesign. The major rooms are much the same, like the Great Hall and the throne room, but far too many things weren't working for me, so here we are, new and shiny palace =D

Original Ground Floor
I should really have put the whole of the grounds around it, but they haven't changed at all, so meh. Couldn't be screwed. Anyway, kitchens have moved to be replaced by a shiny new staff room that's probably stocked with couches and palace brew, maybe a fireplace and not much else. Laundry has shrunk to incorporate the addition of the vault, where all the monies are kept. MMM CASH. Heavy padlocks and big iron bolts etc.

Original First Floor
Full of offices, yay! Even Nol gets an office now. Previously I just had the idea that he did all the kingdom-running stuff in his bedroom, but for when he has meetings with dignitaries and ministers, it wouldn't really do well to have the staff randomly invading to make his bed, so he gets an office now. Scribes still over by Yamin but smaller to make room for the treasury.
The Talons (crime offices, spies) moved to the opposite wing to be replaced by the department of foreign affairs, right below where the guest rooms are. I figure that the Talons do most of their work with criminals and the like on premises outside the palace itself, so they only get a small office there for more regulation stuff, preparing reports for the king, whatever.

Original Top Floor
This is where the royals actually live~ =D The guest rooms tend~ to be bedrooms for other Raykinian princes and princesses, but since they've only got the one right now, that's where particularly important foreign dignitaries--mostly royalty--stay when they come to Ni-Yana. Kitchens, as I say, have been moved because I realised how crappy it must be for all involved having the kitchens on the ground floor and dining room on the top. The poor waiters would have to take the food up three impressive flights of stairs to get it there, and it'd be cold by then, so now it's all on the same level.
The bar in the eastern wing is primarily for the ministers and officials who work at the palace. The staff and royals are most certainly allowed there, but it tends to be the officials who end up there. They have a few bar tenders, relatively full selection of beers, but only the palace brew is free. Can even order meals there, but you have to of course be aware that the royals and their guests have top priority. Still, palace meal, good stuff. The self-serve bar is royalty only, and woe betide anyone who nicks a bottle of Liquid Sunset from those shelves =0
The lounge/rec room opens out onto the southern balcony, with huuuuge wooden shutters for whenever a sandstorm blows through. Northern balcony is private for Nol and Mithé, and~ stuff. Cool room has tiny slits of windows along the ceiling, allowing barely any light in--just enough to see once you let your eyes adjust--but the point is, obviously, that it keeps the heat out. Coolest place in the city during a heatwave, easily =3
Next stage is to replace this. Oh yes. With Maya. I am that insane.
