This year's Not-a-NaNo continues to be creating character for those poor souls who don't have any by pulling their names out of a small box.
Possibly the best face I've ever drawn. There is no profile I can give to this woman that will live up to that face.
NAME Real name unknown, alias 'Jasmine'
WHO IS THIS PERSON One of the current members of Empress Shizaaqa's assassination squad, the Bouquet. Jasmine is the Ruzakan connection.
GENDER Female
AGE 25
BRIEF BIO This one I am going to leave deliberately blank as her early years. Because sometimes assassins are just mysterious. Nobody knows what Flannel Flower's history is before Bouquet, so Jasmine's going to be one of those.
Jasmine was trained as a healer, specialising in poisons. She took great pleasure in seeing how completely incapacitated people could become from a single drop of venom or the mere touch of a poisonous plant, and then bringing them back from the brink with her own skills. Then, she realised, she liked to see it kill people, too. She has no particular reason for killing, only that she loves the power she feels in holding someone's life in her hands. She spikes people's drinks and waits for them to turn up at her healing house, then either saves them or lets them die depending on her mood at the time.
It was when she poisoned one of her local royal family that she appeared on the local Investigators' radar. Or whatever they had before radars. Anyway. She was only caught a year prior to events in SH:Tarnish, and tbh they couldn't prove anything. Nevertheless, she was taken to Shizaaqa in Assiraz, and without accusing her of anything, Shizaaqa just offered her the place in her Bouquet. Very soon after that she was drawn into Yan's plotting and figured she'd just see how it all played out. She still treats the whole professional assassin thing as a bit of a game and knows she can get out of it if and when she feels like it.
CHARACTER As her cover, she's the typical caring healer who does all she can for her patients, she comforts the family when her patients don't make it, she's open with comforting cups of tea and a listening ear, but the first inkling of her other nature is that she doesn't hug. She doesn't like being touched at all, actually. Jasmine wears a thousand masks so that probably not even she knows what she's really like. She never loses her temper, mostly because she thinks she's above everything going on around her. As soon as she gets bored, she'll just quietly get up and leave. She's cold.
POINTS OF INTEREST
She likes tea. I think she must be from near Llayad because they like tea.
She wears purple lippy. It fitted with the lighting and it's freaking hot.
Inspired in part by this photoset and in part by Garbage, whose latest album has been playing the entire time I've been drawing/writing her up. Hence the dark, sexy and androgynous.
