Character 100-ish 047: Akleru

I seem to be picking all the desert people lately. At least the Raykinians are finally being pulled out of the very small box.
Oh no he looks like Jesus again. Nervous Jesus. I swear it's the beard-and-mullet combination.
NAME Akleru
WHO IS THIS PERSON Another of the random desert group I created to have some random desert people to play with. Akleru is a new addition to the group, husband to Weya.
GENDER Male
AGE 27
BRIEF BIO Akleru's mother died giving birth to him, so according to his family group, he was born unlucky. Whenever something bad happened that didn't have a direct cause, Akleru was to blame. This has made him negative about himself, but he's always tried to shake his curse by working doubly hard. When a group of travelling Riverfolk attacked them, commandeered their waterhole and killed a few of their family members, this was the last straw for the family, and Akleru was thrown out. Even Akleru felt he deserved it.
When Laer's family, Weya particularly, took him in, he didn't tell them about his curse, thinking that maybe if he hid it and tried hard, he could shake it. He married Weya and they've had two children together, Nida and Uli. When Uli was three, though, he was bitten by a spider. Akleru didn't think the bite was too serious, but because Uli was only a little tacker, he didn't have the strength yet to fight the poison, and he died. Akleru admitted to Weya that he was born unlucky and, while she was momentarily angry with him, she knew who was really to blame.
CHARACTER Akleru is a hard worker and always desperately trying to prove to himself that his curse has been shaken. He's still insanely superstitious and blames himself for things going wrong, and he'll apologise by default whenever anyone curses. He really tries to set things right before they go wrong.
POINTS OF INTEREST
The scar over his right eye came from the fight with the Riverfolk that got him kicked out of his first family group.
