Character 100-ish 051: Princess Temperance

On we go pulling names out of the very small box. I swear it doesn't feel like I've done 51 of them. Maybe because I can see how many more names are in the said box.
I've fallen behind on drawing children with this one. Her face looks flat, missing that chubby roundness I've managed on the last couple. Also she looks older than she should.
NAME Princess Temperance
WHO IS THIS PERSON Princess Lynnlita's niece. Eldest child of Prince Kuhedrin and Princess Sallianne of Llayad
GENDER Female
AGE Ten
BRIEF BIO Temperance and her sister Lisabetha lived on a big cattle station around the southern, more deserty side of Llayad's massive lake, and grew up around all the cows and buffalo and other farm animals. Temperance especially loved the chickens, and was very sad whenever they had chicken for dinner. When she was five years old, both of Temperance's parents died, trampled by a stampede of their own livestock. Temperance thankfully didn't see it happen, but she heard the buffalo and was terrified by their thunder.
Because they had such a big station, they didn't technically belong to any castle, so there was nobody to take them in. Temperance looked after her little sister as best she could, cooking eggs for them both from the chickens and pulling carrots out of the garden, until the weekly... delivery person of some kind came past. She knew the girls well, and took them both all the way around the other side of the lake to Wensleydale. Ordinarily the king and queen would then send them to some family who couldn't have children of their own for whatever reason, but it just so happened at the time that their son, Kuhedrin, and his lovely wife were thinking about adopting at the time.
So suddenly Temperance became a princess. For the first few months it was just her, Lisabetha and her new adoptive parents, not even any servants or extended family to overwhelm them. Temperance took to her new situation quite timidly, but knew she had to be strong for her little sister. Slowly, new family members were introduced, and then the castle servants. At ten, Temperance is just now learning what it actually means to be a princess.
CHARACTER Mature beyond her years, very conscious of the fact she's the eldest alive from her family. Brave and strong, very supportive of her little sister Lisabetha, who has only just started opening up. Lisabetha is everything to Temperance, and she'll always offer hugs and comforting words if her sister wakes up crying in the middle of the night or gets scared when there are too many people around.
POINTS OF INTEREST
She still doesn't quite see Kuhedrin and Sallianne as her parents, but she does love them. They're probably at aunt and uncle stage right now.
Chickens are still her favourite animal but she's okay with eating them now, just as long as she didn't know them before they turn up on her plate.

Date: 2014-05-02 03:10 pm (UTC)I swear after I've done all the headshots I'll do some proper hand practices. The constant faces has really helped with them, so if I'm as determined with hands as I've been with faces then maybe I can get to be really good at them! Maybe.
