Why are so many desert people coming up? 6 of the last 8 have been desert. Eh.
Very happy with how she's come out, especially her nose. I love noses :D
NAME Weya
WHO IS THIS PERSON One of the random desert group I created to have a random desert group. Weya is the eldest daughter of the leaders, Laer and Qowen.
GENDER Female
AGE 26
BRIEF BIO Weya grew up in a pretty big desert group, one that was growing too big for the land to support it. When Weya was 15, her mother, Laer, decided to take her three children away to form a new group and give everyone a better chance of survival. While Weya never questioned Laer’s decision to leave, she saw no reason to like it. She left behind a relatively comfortable life and a boyfriend who was too chickened to come with her, and was thrown in the deep end. She learned to hunt from her father and has since become a strong hunter. She has always pulled her weight and been the responsible older sister.
After a year in the wilderness, they met up with another desert group on the decline and formed a new group. Weya hooked up with Ruwi, but he was too overbearing for her. She stuck with him until Lynun turned up a few months later, at which point she wasn’t too disappointed to let him go.
The next winter, Akleru stumbled near-death into their camp, Weya took him on as a project to prove to Ruwi that she could make do without him. When Akleru subsequently fell in love with her, she saw no reason to resist.
They've had two children, daughter Nida and son Uli. Uli died of a spider bite at age three. Weya's brother Alir saw him get bitten but thought it wasn't threatening. A full-grown adult would have been fine, sick for a day or two but fine, but a three-year-old boy?
Primarily cooks, gets the campfire ready, etc. Goes out hunting when she needs to get away from everyone.
CHARACTER Bitter, unsympathetic. If ever anything goes wrong for someone else, she’ll shrug and say ‘that’s life’. She gives the impression she’s beyond caring, but she probably cares more than she lets on. Outright anger to her is a waste of energy, though she’ll snap at her brother with no provocation. She’s insanely jealous of Lynun, who has two perfectly healthy children.
Weya is dedicated, though she doesn’t show it in terms of the small things. She’s hardened from her year with just her parents and siblings and doesn’t let the little things get to her. She can see the big picture, how to keep everyone alive and healthy.
POINTS OF INTEREST
Weya is incredibly bitter towards her brother Alir, who she blames for her son's death. She's been a little neglectful of her daughter since then almost in favour of spitting at Alir.
Primarily cooks, gets the campfire ready, etc. Goes out hunting when she needs to get away from everyone.
Looks most like her mother.
