NAME Lady Nanuka
WHO IS THIS PERSON One of the healers in the palace healing house
GENDER Female
AGE 37
BRIEF BIO Nanuka has lived her whole life in Ni-Yana's upper-class as the daughter of a healer and a palace official. She saw a lot of the palace as a child, and began her training at 13 at the palace healing house. She always particularly loved working with the kids, and they responded well to her, too, so she took paediatrics as her speciality and earned her gold healer's band at 19.
As a teenager, Nanuka's then-boyfriend ran off with her best friend, so they had a bit of a falling out. However, he then ran off with another girl and she and her friend realised he was just a bastard so now, years later, they laugh about their silly teenage years.
Nanuka married at 21 and moved with her new husband to their own house, still in the same district, and they've since had three children together, two boys and a girl.
CHARACTER Nanuka is the motherly one in the healing house. She knows when one of the other healers is feeling sorry for themselves, and whether they need a hug or a kick up the pants. She's always loved children, and takes particular pride in seeing her own children grow as well as the younger healers. Nanuka feeds off compliments. She acts modest, but a keen ear can tell she's fishing for recognition.
POINTS OF INTEREST
Nanuka and her husband have been planning a big holiday when the kids are old enough to fend for themselves at home. For the moment, they enjoy their private time going to a nice restaurant for dinner or palming the kids off to one of Nanuka's brothers for the day.
Nankua'a oldest son, now 10, wants to start army training, but not while his mother is working at the palace healing house.
Nanuka was just created to be 'the healer,' the one who would show up whenever I needed Yamin to interact with a healer who wasn't Madame Auin, but she's kinda bland as a result now. With Ramnaré finding prominence as another desert woman for Yamin to interact with instead, I can't see Nanuka really coming into the rewrite at all. Sorry Nanuka, you're just a bit dull.
