I've been both looking forward to and dreading Zakky at the same time.

NAME Commander Zakaariss
WHO IS THIS PERSON One of the commanders in Empress Shizaaqa's Commanding Circle. Also the future general and Empress Assili's not-husband, though technically people don't know that yet. They can guess, though.
GENDER Male
AGE 25
BRIEF BIO Zakaariss grew up in a rough town in northern Assiraz as the son of a blacksmith and a home tutor. He knew from the start that he wanted more from life than what a man could normally achieve in female-dominated Kazin, but the most pivotal moment that gave him true purpose came when he was six. He came across a badly wounded bird that was just barely alive. Zakaariss found himself holding the power of life and death over the creature, a power he greatly enjoyed. After considering for a while, he decided to save the bird's life, but his father ridiculed him for being too soft to end the creature's life, while his mother was more accepting of his choice. Zakaariss considered his father's attitude to be short-sighted. Not only did he discover his love of power, but he also came to realise his mind was better than most other men's.
The next year he left for army training in Assiraz City, and threw himself wholeheartedly at his studies, working every waking hour to surpass his betters and get himself noticed. By the time he was 23, Zakaariss had already reached the rank of commander, the youngest ever in Kazin's history, but he wasn't done yet. More recently he's been turning his attention to the young crown princess, knowing this is the way to true power as the future empress' not-husband and general.
CHARACTER So power-hungry his life is driven by his lust for it, though he does remarkably well to hide it. And any other emotion he might experience. We assume he experiences emotion every now and then. Zakaariss is methodical and very conscious of how he appears to those in power, not allowing anyone to know his personal opinions. Zakaariss wants to rule. He likes to appear very helpful in war meetings, though not too intelligent to overshadow the general and empress just yet, but he's out to make himself look good, not to help his fellow man.

drazzi's. I just obsess over him and live vicariously through the dozen or so Kazinians who I've thrown in bed with him. Or will throw in bed with him.
Zakaariss is a skilled warrior as well as tactician. His weapon of choice is his pair of kukris, though he's pretty awesome with a bow, too.
Zakaariss' office is extremely bare, little more than a bookcase, desk, a couple of chairs and a hanging of his Family Colours.
There are HEAPS of rumours about him. One such rumour is that he's so good at fighting and got so high in the army so fast because he's a relative of Ulzaq, Kazinian god of war. Another similar one is that he died once and fought with Ulzaq, won and thus got to come back to life. Another is that he's blessed by Ulzaq, and earmarked to take over the Holy Position on his death. Zakaariss does nothing to dispel these rumours.
Bazhan, the commander who looks like Hugh Jackman and literally slept his way to the top, is (somehow) his bestie. There are plenty of rumours about them, too.
He has a mole on his right shoulder.

I want to make a joke about a rumour being that Zakky is a vampire and only keeps Bazh around to suck his blood, but it sounds really dumb as I keep talking SO YEAH.

Vampires seem more like a Llayan thing. I know depressingly little about Kazinian mythology. I should work on that (along with the 50 million other things I should work on XD)
