Character 100-ish 117: Sienna

This one was named after the pencil I used most in colouring her. Mix of raw sienna and light sienna for her base, lot of burnt sienna for the shading, then burnt and raw for the highlights in her hair. They're among my favourite browns.
She's also got burnt sienna in her eyes.

BRIEF BIO Yeah, got you curious about her now, haven't I? Sienna is the daughter of a Raykinian mother and a Llayan father, both of them ambassadors to their respective countries until they decided to settle down in Ni-Yana and have a family. Sienna herself is the middle of three daughters, and grew up wishing for a similar life to that of her parents. She started working in admin at the palace as a teenager, where she started making her mark as an interpreter.
She was introduced to the Own challenge on day one at the palace. She'd heard of them of course--she's grown up in the city, after all--but this was her first time watching one and ooh she loved it. After living such a refined life with strict Llayan etiquette at home, the raw brute force of these guys going at each other with swords was the most exciting thing she'd ever seen. She held out for Own challenges after that, and occasionally went with her friends to watch the trainees, too.
There was one in particular, who had been touted as Own material since about second year, but who hailed from south of the Main Road, and she wasn't yet willing to admit to herself that she found that exciting, too. Still, he was exciting to watch, even though whenever he wasn't training (which was most of the time, because you're aware by now this is Rumal we're talking about and he's a bloody workaholic) he had beautiful ladies draping off his arm. When his hrai-dani came and went with no subsequent marriage, Sienna started to get her hopes up that maybe she had a chance with him, but it wasn't until her friends finally pushed her to make the first move that she actually did anything about it. She did this by 'bumping' into him in the courtyard so he could then ask her to dinner. Smooooooth.
Sienna and Rumal dated for the last couple of years of his training, including his repeating of his final year (lol) then married straight after his graduation. Six months later Rumal was in the Own, and the two of them were living the high life. Biggest mansion in Ni-Yana, a staff to rival the palace, fine dining and a fancy dress for every evening... yeah Rumal didn't mind spending money. Still doesn't, but that's irrelevant.
What's relevant is that he ditched his old life, but the people from it weren't too happy about this. They saw Rumal living it up and not giving a copper piece to them, and they resented this so much that they decided to take away as much of his happiness in one swoop as they could. That meant Sienna. She was murdered at age 25, after four glorious years of marriage. Those who did it were caught and executed for their crime, but Rumal was left alone.
CHARACTER Sienna was one of those rich-girl-likes-a-bit-of-rough types. She liked her refinement, her classy meals and jewellery, but she equally liked a bit of excitement in her life, and having a warrior for a husband filled just that need for excitement she was after. Took her a while to admit this to herself, but she got there in the end. She was quite coarse and Raykinian in her humour, much to her father's horror. Just as vain as her husband, just as in love with the fame and fortune as he was.
POINTS OF INTEREST
She's been dead now for twice as long as Rumal knew her, but he still misses her. He knows he'll never marry again.
I decided she was half-Llayan when her nose came out so well but really wasn't Raykinian. Tans easily and dark brown hair.
She never actually went to Llayad.
She's also got burnt sienna in her eyes.
