Character 100-ish 119: Laer
Sep. 3rd, 2014 08:24 pmI'm starting to get excited pulling out desert people now because they're ALMOST ALL GONE YESSS.

This is her long-suffering 'What next?' face.
NAME Laer
WHO IS THIS PERSON Elder of the random desert group I created for the purposes of having a desert group
GENDER Female
AGE 46
BRIEF BIO Laer grew up as the eldest child of her family and a natural leader. She and Qowen married when she was 19, and she had her first daughter, Weya, the following year. Falak, her second daughter, and Alir, her son, were born a few years later. Laer and Qowen weren't the only ones having children, though, and the family group was growing far too big for the land to support it. As soon as her own children were old enough, Laer made the decision to split from the family and strike out on their own. Her husband Qowen has always been an excellent hunter so she knew he'd be able to provide for them while he taught the kids to hunt.
After six tough months as just the five of them, they met up with another much diminished group, Gunai's. The two joined into one to save each other. Over the years they've accepted another two members into their group, Akleru and Lynun, and Laer's become a grandmother.
CHARACTER Stern, willing to listen to a point. She'll hear two sides to a story, but once she's made her decision, nothing will change her mind. Rules with an iron fist, especially when the hunters are out. She's a surly woman and it doesn't take much to get on her bad side. She makes sure the family feels like they constantly have to prove themselves to her, because it's that attitude that keeps them alive. She's inspirational, even if the others don't realise it.
POINTS OF INTEREST
...I just really like how her eyes came out.
