'nother character profile, because Lynnlita seems to be getting a bigger and bigger part in this story, so she gets a profile. Good~ on 'er. And before anyone mentions it, yes, I'm aware her brother is as yet nameless. It took the better part of half an hour to give her eldest sister a name (which is derived from
gatogurl's names, yay!) so I really can't be screwed giving him one yet. He'll get one eventually, but right now? It's 2:30 in the morning, when I'm not at my creative best. Suggestions are more than welcome. Basically~ somewhere around 3-5 syllables, and they love double consonants, those Llayans.
Birth
Summer 4th, 4031 (March 26th)
Death (if applicable)
Not applicable
Physical description
Very curly, dark brown hair with a slight burgundy tint, average height for a Llayan, slim, honey-brown eyes, soft features, beautiful by Llayan standards, faintly tanned
Personality traits
Stubborn, condescending towards anyone below her, persuasive, smartarse, intelligent, snobby, proud, ignorant of other ways of life/cultures, emotion driven
Mannerisms/habits
Smoothing out invisible wrinkles in her clothes when nervous
Distinguishing features/marks
Nothing as such
Hair-do
Dark brown, tinted slightly burgundy, very curly, about armpit length. Tends to wear it half up and with a her golden tiara
Height/build/weight
168cm, 54kg, slim, curvy, substantial cleavage
Accessories
Lots of jewellery, primarily gold and very gaudy in typical Llayan style. Golden tiara set with sapphires, turquoise and other blue gemstones. Lucky necklace—gold chain with a single turquoise stone.
Casual wear
As many frills and pieces of jewellery as will fit on her person. Especially likes blue and gold clothes
Battle attire (if applicable)
Definitely not applicable
Best/worst qualities
Best: Llayans love curly hair, so she’s definitely very happy with that. And her cleavage
Worst: She reckons her hips are too wide.
Speech
Incredibly formal. Always speaks in the third person, even when speaking a language that has first and second person. Her voice sounds ‘blond-bimbo-esque’, but she’s rather more intelligent than she makes out to be. Has a habit of snubbing most people below her in ranking.
Reading/writing
Can do both with ease
Languages
Fluent Tsaythi, near-fluent Raykinian and Kazinian. She thinks it impolite to use first or second person though, so she keeps to the third person even when speaking these languages.
Worst enemy
None
Preferred weapon
None
Fighting style
None. She’d cower the second anyone made to strike her
Typical day
Rises with the sun, amuses herself by riding, doing needlework, reading, drawing etc, then goes to bed not long after the sun sets. Often helps with running-the-kingdom things
Occupation
Princess of Llayad
Favourite food/drink
Sashimi and fruit juices, especially guava
Early bird or night owl?
Early bird
Hobbies
Horse riding, needlework, reading and drawing
Greatest flaw
She’s very much used to getting her own way, and this has made her incredibly stubborn. She’s also very ignorant of other cultures and thinks they should all be like Llayad
Strongest point
Excellent debater, which means that to other Llayans, she’s also a great conversationalist. Unfortunately, Raykinians don’t admire such a quality
Greatest ambition/goal
Marry Nolryn and become queen of Raykin. She has very clear plans on what she would then do with the kingdom, namely banning alcohol and disbanding the army
Self-confidence
Very, very high. Pride is looked upon well in Llayad, especially when it’s justified
Give orders or take them
Give them. Very few people are high-ranking enough to give her orders
Introvert or extrovert
Extrovert
Coping skills
Depends on how much control she feels she has over the situation and how directly if affects her. If it’s some problem with the running of the kingdom, she can usually keep a cool had and work it out. If it’s something like physical violence she’s witnessing first hand, she’s pretty much at a loss.
“I love you”
Her heart would catch in her throat and tears would well up in her eyes. If it was some alternate universe, and it was Nol saying this, she’d just about faint with happiness.
“I hate you”
Pretty much the same physical reaction, tho obviously she’d be crushed rather than ecstatic.
“Someone you love is dead”
Same again
“Someone you hate is dead”
She wouldn’t really know how to feel. In the end she’d probably just be blank and pretty indifferent.
“You will die”
She’d be devastated, start begging to be left alive
“Help me”
Depends entirely on who it is, how dire their needs are and if she’d get anything in return
Anger
It’s not particularly ladylike to openly show anger, but she will visibly tense and give the silent treatment to whoever she’s angry with. She’s very good at not taking her anger out on people who are completely uninvolved though
Sadness
She’ll cry openly and spill her problems to anyone who’ll listen, especially her mother and sisters
Loss
Same again, unless it’s something she’s certain she can get back, in which case she’ll do everything in her power to make it so.
Stress
Generally very cool about it, but if it piles up she’ll just give up, throw her hands in the air and give it to someone else.
Conflict
Can’t stand it, can’t understand it. She’s much of the Llayan idea that everything should be sunshine, lollypops and daisies. She’ll try her best to put quarrels to an end, but knows when to give up if it looks like something that can’t be solved by outside forces.
Social events
Loves them. Parades around looking pretty and flirts with any guy she can find.
Happy
Jewellery and pretty clothes
Sad
Animals, especially cute ones, dying
Scared
Insects, especially potentially poisonous ones. Snakes
Angry
Not getting her own way
Surprised
Romantic acts from men
Embarrassed
Her parents doing something that reflects badly on her
(how she see others and how others see her)
King Yan
Doesn’t know him, and he doesn’t know her
King Mithé
They barely know each other, but she thinks of him as an uncle or father-in-law, and he thinks he’s a lovely girl who’d make a great queen for Raykin. Both of them are trying desperately to get Nol to propose to her, but it’s not working.
Yamin
She admires her healing skills, but doesn’t interact with her much. Yamin’s apparent silence unnerves her, and Yamin doesn’t much like Lynnlita’s constant babble.
Nimay
They quietly loathe each other. Lynnlita sees Nimay as her competition for Nol, even though Nimay’s not actually after Nol. She also hates how Nimay is part of the army—most unladylike. Nimay can’t stand Lynnlita’s constant fawning over Nol, and holier-than-thou attitude.
Nolryn
She loves Nol. Nol hates her. She fawns over him all the time, trying to coax him into proposing to her, but Nol just can’t stand her, mainly for the reasons Nimay doesn’t, but also because he knows what her plans are for Raykin, and that she’s so stubborn that she won’t see how badly those plans would affect the kingdom.
Community
She’s the youngest of the royal household, so she’s intermittently doted upon and spoilt or completely ignored, which she doesn’t take to very well at all. She ranks herself above everyone in the kingdom except her parents and older siblings, but there are several members of the court who place themselves above her, since she’ll only be queen if her siblings all die before her.
Other Llayans
The peasants don’t really know her, since it’s pretty certain she’ll never have rule over them, but the nobles deal with her quite often, and they all love her. Most men in the kingdom would be willing to give their right arm to be her husband.
Raykinians, Tsaythis and Kazinians
Raykinians don’t really know her, only that she’s the most prospective person to be Nol’s wife and that he’s not willing to take her, otherwise he’d’ve done so already. They’d loathe her if they knew her plans for the kingdom though.
Tsaythis barely even know who their own princesses are, let alone a Llayan one who’ll most likely never take the throne. Tsaythi royalty look at her pretty much indifferently. They know she has little power, if any at all.
Kazinians, general public and rulers alike, neither know nor care who she is.
Is the glass half-empty or half-full?
Half full most of the time
Superstitions
Rain on the Summer Solstice means a bad year to come
Four’s her lucky number. She’ll often manipulate other numbers so they end up being four
Never go outside on the night of a new moon, or the next day will be filled with bad luck
Lucky charms
Owns a lucky necklace that she always wears—gold chain with a single turquoise stone
Stuffed toy lion she’s had since she was born. Nobody knows she still keeps it though.
Gods and Goddesses—what part do they play? Do they exist?
They definitely exist, though she doesn’t know the names of them all. They all play some part in organising people’s lives, however minor. The deities make things happen, but it’s entirely up to the individual as to how they react in a given situation.
Birth
Most beautiful thing a woman can do in her life
Death
She doesn’t tend to think about it. She knows it’ll have to happen some time, but she’s too young to be thinking it’ll happen any time soon
Life
Should be preserved at all costs
Love
Lynnlita’s a hopeless romantic, and never fails to be swept off her feet when a man wishes to do so. She’s absolutely set on getting Nol to love her.
Sex
Strictly a matter for the bedroom. Outside the bedroom, it shouldn’t even be mentioned.
Killing
She doesn’t believe anyone deserves to be killed, not in war and not as punishment, no matter how bad the deed was. She even believes Yan should be given a fair go, even though he should have been dead and buried four millennia ago.
Magic
She definitely believes in it, a little too much. Can’t see why Yamin and Nimay don’t just magic Yan away or use it to get control of Kazin, and if anything slightly unusual happens, she blames it on them.
Not applicable
Schooling
As did all the royal children, she was taught by palace teachers, a separate one each for Llayan (like English lessons here—literature, grammar etc), mathematics, history, one for each foreign language (who were native speakers of that language) who also taught her history of that kingdom when her language skills were good enough, horse riding, embroidery and artistry. She also learnt some things about running the kingdom from her parents, but that was her own choice rather than part of her formal education.
Despite all the education about foreign cultures and traditions, she’s completely ignorant of them and believes everyone should be like Llayad.
Survival skills
Zero. This has never been a part of royal, or even noble, education in Llayad, and probably never will be
Parents’ names and occupations
Keldirande: Father, King of Llayad
Rilldana: Mother, Queen of Llayad
Relationship with parents
She loves her parents dearly, but they have a habit of embarrassing her immensely. She’s also incredibly skilled at manipulating them.
Siblings’ names and occupations
Amyrallyn: Sister, two years older than Lynnlita, Llayan princess
: Brother, seven years older than Lynnlita, Llayan prince
Evelandel: Sister, eight years older than Lynnlita, crown princess of Llayad
Relationship with siblings
Fantastic relationship with Amyrallyn, but not so much with Evelandel or her brother, because of the age difference. She can talk with them easily, but their conversations are always more like a royal discussion than chattingwith siblings. She can tell pretty much anything to Amyrallyn though.
Other family members
Brother-in-law, Evelandel’s husband, who she doesn’t really talk to, again because of the age difference
Five-year-old niece, Evelandel’s daughter, who she thinks is absolutely adorable and loves playing with
Sister-in-law, brother’s wife. Her personality’s completely different to Lynnlita’s and so they don’t talk often
Childhood
Schooled at the palace, went on a royal meet-and-greet at age ten to Tsayth, Raykin and Kazin, and that’s about it.
How current position was reached
She was born, hence she’s the princess
Best memory
Meeting Nol for the first time, even though neither of them knew the other’s language much beyond “Hello, my name is.” She also loved hermeet-and-greet, again because she could see Nol
Worst memory
When Nol first made it clear he wasn’t interested in her, but she’s since turned the negative into a challenge
Turning points in life
Age 6: First met Nol
Age 10: Royal meet-and-greet
Age 16: First proper conversation with Nol, he made it clear he wasn’t interested
