Title~ Aeia's Domain
Author~ Annarti
Disclaimer~ Random character, Aeia and everything else is mine~~ so there X)
Notes~ 15 minute fic, word 13. This one was just screaming at me to do someone lost in the desert, however, Yamin, Nimay and Yan can't get lost in the desert due to both yrae and desert magic, and Nol would have no cause to be in the desert at all, hence, 'nother completely random character. You don't even know if it's a he or a she this time =0

Aeia’s harsh light beat senselessly on dark hair, bleached from a rich, blue-black to a more chocolaty brown. Olive skin had turned white and flaky, cracking painfully off of tender, ruby-red flesh beneath. A tongue too dry lisped over dryer lips. A grimace opened yet another crack in the raw, sensitive skin.

Dark eyes squinted up at Aeia’s light. It had risen not more than four hours ago, and already it beat relentlessly on the rust-coloured sand. This was most certainly Aeia’s domain. This was a world of bright orange-red contrasting sharply with cobalt blue, and yet the line between the two was indistinguishable.

Water lined the horizon, mingling with the rich blue of the sky, and yet, it was not there. Aeia saw it good sport to tease the unfortunate wanderer who dared enter her domain. She played with the mind, forcing it to think Lin was not ten paces away, and then she would take it away again, leaving another equally tantalising pool a short distance off.

Blistered feet, caked in red dust that clung to moisture refusing to stay beneath the skin, tripped on something. Exhaustion. Pain. Frailty. All of these. Body, scorched by Aeia’s light almost beyond recognition, collapsed into the sand.

Brittle arms lay helplessly on powdered rust, almost cooking from the intense heat coming from above and below. Legs bent awkwardly under the body, struggling feebly to bring it to an upright position. Breath rasped in cracked and parched throat, gasping in more dust, but barely noticing it.

Something unfamiliar pressed against right temple, but the brows are too cracked to crease in a frown.

Something unfamiliar licked tantalisingly at flaking scalp.

One single word passed through the sun-sick mind, causing a faint hint of a smile cross relieved lips.

Lin.
