Regulation Army Swords
Oct. 26th, 2005 11:42 pmFollowing on from the swords of the King's Own last night, here are the regulation army swords:

The swordies all get brass or gold-plated brass in place of steel or silver-plated steel because they're idolised in Raykin, so they get something that sets them out from the rest. Plus they actually use their sword, while everyone else just uses it when their weapon of choice dies for whatever reason.
The general rabble gets brown leather for their hilt and scabbard while the Generals have black, because if you haven't picked it up from 'may yet, black is the colour of the Generals.
The Third Generals are each in charge of a Company of 100 men, and they each have a semi-precious stone on the pommel of their sword in place of the ball of metal. Swordsmen Third Generals get jasper, archers have kyanite, blade archers have purple jade, pikemen have amber (but without the bug) and~ the siege Third Generals have white quartz.
The Second Generals, in charge of their own little group of Third Generals and indirectly all the men of a particular weapon, get precious stones. The swordies Second General has a shiny red ruby, archer has a sapphire, Second General of the blade archers has an amethyst, pikeman has a sparkly orange topaz, and the guy in control of all the siege weapons has an opal.
The First General tells all the Second Generals what to do, so he's in control of the whole~ army. He's the one who talks directly to the king or queen. He's got an onyx, blackest of the black, because he's the General of all Generals X3

Date: 2005-10-26 04:37 pm (UTC)Ever since the Own was first invented, there's been a bit of a rivalry between the First General and the General of the Own, because the Own is the one tiny but incredibly significant part of the army that the First General has absolutely zero control over. If, in the midst of a huge battle, the Own has to bugger off and do something else, the First General can't stop them, so he loses his fifteen best fighters.
Hope that made sense ._.;;
