Notes~ 15 minute fic, word 125. Go on, guess who they are. I bet you can't XD;
~ ~ ~
She hated him. Oh, by the tears of all the gods and goddesses of the pantheon, did she hate him. She couldn’t remember hating anyone as much as she hated him. Dislike, certainly. She was never happy with her parents or older siblings when they treated her like a child. She had never liked the head stable hand in Kilyad. There were a few servants she couldn’t stand to be around, and until now she’d thought she had hated them, but now she realised she’d had no idea what true hatred was.
She’d barely been in his presence for half an hour, but he’d been able to charm her in that short time like no other man she’d ever met. She’d thought, being a Llayan princess, that she knew well the wiles of men after her hand in marriage. Men tried to charm her on a daily basis at home, and weekly when she was out of her home kingdom, but this had been something entirely different.
He’d made her blush, gods damn him! She’d dipped her eyelids, unable to meet those beautiful brown eyes full on. There was such power behind those eyes, power unlike any she could have ever conceived. God-like, almost, and yet he spoke in a manner that told her he couldn’t care less for the power. He could command all the royal families of Tsyllaes to bow to him and they would obey without question, but he deigned not to.
His words alone were enough to set her heart into a flutter of butterflies, but with those eyes, it was too much for her. She’d fallen for him terribly. How dare he, only to let her down so hard?
He’d made her fall for him like that. It was his fault; there was no question of it. He occupied her waking thoughts since she’d met him, and a number of her sleeping thoughts as well. She hated him for it. Gods’ tears how she hated him for it.
But if she hated him so, why could she not banish him from her thoughts?
Somewhere under that hate, she couldn’t help but think… she thought she might have liked it.
